2. The data we collect

  • Enquiry data — name, phone, email, location and details you provide when you submit our quote/contact form or chat with our AI assistant.
  • Technical data — with your consent, aggregated analytics about how you use the site (pages viewed, device, approximate location, referrer).

3. How we use your data and our lawful basis

  • To respond to enquiries and provide quotes — legitimate interests and, where applicable, steps prior to entering into a contract.
  • To improve our website and services — consent (analytics cookies).
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

4. Sharing your data

We share data only with trusted processors that help us run our website and respond to enquiries:

  • Our hosting and database provider.
  • Email delivery providers used to send transactional emails.
  • Google Analytics (only if you consent to analytics cookies).

All processors are bound by contract to protect your data. Some processors may transfer data outside the UK under UK GDPR-approved safeguards (UK Addendum / Standard Contractual Clauses).

5. How long we keep your data

We keep enquiry data for as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and to comply with our legal and accounting obligations (typically up to 6 years). Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics defaults (currently up to 14 months).

6. Your rights

  • Have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Have your data erased ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict or object to processing.
  • Data portability.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect prior processing).

To exercise any of these rights email info@mjsiteservices.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. Non-essential cookies are only set with your consent.
